LIPOSUCTION/

VIBRATION-ASSISTED LIPOSUCTION

Pre-Op

It is a surgical method used to remove subcutaneous fat cells that are in excess or resistant to diets and muscle training and end up frustrating patients. Liposuction is performed through small incisions in strategic locations that become imperceptible after months.

This procedure is not performed for weight loss purposes but rather for body shaping.

Physiotherapy is a co-participant in any surgical procedure. In the preoperative period, the patient will be evaluated, guided and prepared for surgery, according to their current limitations and the surgical procedure they will undergo.

In the preoperative period, muscle strengthening is recommended at least 3 months beforehand. Focusing on the areas to be liposuctioned, which can be the thighs, abdomen, back, arms and even the neck (meto).

Stretching will allow you greater mobility right after your surgery, so they are excellent allies.

Skin care, such as hydration, drainage, electrotherapy and exfoliation a few days before surgery, helps with future healing.

In relation to posture, a good record of postural images and analyses is necessary, aiming to inform and record compensations or existing bone and muscle patterns.

Good nutritional guidance would also be welcome, helping the digestive tract and preparing cellular nutrition.

Post-Op

Postoperative Care After Liposuction:

  • The main concern is monitoring for possible skin irregularities.

  • The patient is allowed to move freely in all positions and directions.

  • Physiotherapy should begin on the third or fourth postoperative day, counting the day of surgery as day one.

  • The patient will be assessed and documented on the first day of care and will receive a physiotherapeutic diagnosis based on that evaluation.

  • A minimum of 10 to 15 sessions is recommended over a period of 3 to 5 weeks; however, this number may vary according to the initial assessment and the patient's daily progress.

  • Respiratory physiotherapy is part of the treatment and starts on the very first day of care.

  • Guidance and demonstrations regarding positioning, posture, and movement are essential for both the patient and caregivers.

  • Wound care and hygiene will be provided when necessary and only at the physician’s request.

  • Manual lymphatic drainage is performed in every session. We master several techniques (Leduc – Godoy – Vodder), with international certification and ongoing training to maintain high standards and precision in our care.

  • Electrotherapy usually begins between the 7th and 10th postoperative day, depending on the physiotherapeutic evaluation and the current healing needs of the patient. Daily assessments guide treatment choices. Available modalities include laser, ultrasound, endermotherapy, high-frequency ozone, carboxytherapy, and radiofrequency.

  • We offer personalized application of the Estela Carraro shaping method, a patented technique involving towel bandaging, adapted individually for each patient.
