FACIAL TRANSOPERATIVE

The transoperative phase is the phase that determines the patient's entry and exit to the surgical center.

At this stage, the physiotherapist works immediately after the surgery is completed, but still inside the surgical center. Kinesio taping is applied, which are adhesive elastic bandages placed on the skin using kinesio techniques, respecting the lymphatic flow and associating it with the type of surgery performed.

In facial surgeries, the physiotherapist applies bandages to the face, allowing for greater muscle stabilization and improved lymphatic circulation. The bandages aim to reduce edema, bruising and future fibrosis.

They can also be applied in the hospital, in the room before discharge or at home in the first 24 hours after surgery. The sooner the better.

The surgical team must be respected regarding the application or ideal moment to apply this technique.

This treatment has a different cost apart from the surgery and pre- or post-operative treatment.
